- The Wears Valley FallFest on October 10-11 is ready to kick-off. This used to be a festival done by the Wears Valley Chamber of Commerce, but now Keep Sevier Beautiful took it over this year as a fundraiser/awareness campaign for their non-profit organization.

- A new bust of former Kentucky Gov. Bert T. Combs has been unveiled at University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, where Combs graduated in 1930 and where a scholarship in his name is established.
