I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas!! And I hope you had a chance to be with the ones you love!
I was able to get off work this Christmas and visit with my family in North Georgia. It was fabulous!! I went home on Christmas Eve and went to church for the Christmas service. The church was full, so my mom and sister had to sit on a different pew than my fiance and I did. However, I was fortunate enough to get to hold my 3 year old niece on my lap throughout the service. She is so precious. The service was filled with Christmas hymns and the Christmas story I love so much!! The final hymn was Silent Night. That song just gets me every time I hear it. Especially as I looked over at my mother who was crying as well. As we were singing this year, I just thought about how lucky I am to have my loved ones around me.
Christmas morning was filled with the traditional favorites in the Davis house: unwrapping of presents, my mom's delicious sausage and egg casserole and a day full of playing with all the toys. Then a long nap before another exquisite meal: a beef tenderloin, warm goat cheese and walnut salad, and steamed potatoes.
The holidays just make me realize how blessed I am to have a loving, healthy family. I hope all of you had a wonderful, blessed Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!!
