Keep Knoxville Beautiful continues its mission to make Knoxville a Cleaner, Greener and more Beautiful place to live, work and play.
With the continued enhancement of Knoxville’s outstanding public green spaces, the development of the Urban Wilderness outdoor recreation network, and inspired downtown development; Knoxville has emerged as a premier urban ecotourism destination.
One major impediment to the growth of this economic opportunity is the littered and unsightly high-visibility roadside locations throughout our area that diminish the quality of the outdoor recreation attraction and the quality of life of the citizens of our great community.
Inspired by the flash mob and cash mob method of calls to action, KKB will bring Beautification Mobs to life this spring with the help of Carex Design Group and volunteers throughout the area.
The KKB Beautification mobs will identify and beautify public locations throughout the Knoxville area with trash cleanup, landscaping, and routine maintenance, once again focusing on highly visibile locations in the City and County.
KKB invites the community to nominate locations for KKB’s Beautification Mob and to participate as a volunteer.
Criteria for nomination and selection will include:
• unsightly vegetated spaces
• high visibility / high profile locations
• space limited in area (no more than 500 sf)
• suited to low-profile landscaping options
• owner(s) amenable to access
• volunteers willing to adopt, beautify and maintain
Anyone may nominate a location simply by sending an email stating the details of the proposed location to KKB Executive Director Allison Teeters at email@example.com.
Suggested locations for Beautification Mob attention will be screened and locations selected by the KKB Board of Directors and staff. Send in your suggestions and look out for updates at the KKB website www.keepknoxvillebeautiful.org. And help us and your neighbors make a cleaner, greener and more beautiful Knoxville.
