What is Tenn Achieves?
A scholarship and mentoring program for students entering technical or community colleges. We are partnering with Tennessee Promise for funding.
How does it work?
Students go to school 2.5 years for free! Nonprofit organizations provide the mentoring.
Who qualifies to be in program and attend school for free?
Any Tennessee HS graduate can apply.
Who do they serve?
tnAchieves is expecting to grow to 80 counties this year, up from the 27 we currently serve. We are projecting that 30,000 students will apply for the scholarship! The program will also begin working with all 27 Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology (TCATs).
How many mentors are needed?
5,000 across the state
What do they do?
Meet with students one hour a month to be sure all deadlines are met.
Requirements for mentors?
They must be 21 years old - pass a background check and have a heart for education and helping others!
