Lauren Davis anchors First At 4 Monday through Friday and is the Senior Reporter at Local 8 News.
She started working at WVLT in 2007 and has covered breaking stories like the TVUUC shooting, Central HS shooting, TVA coal ash spill, Brooke Morris's murder, recent kidnapping/bank robberies, Chattanooga terror attacks and the fatal bus crash.
Before joining Local 8 News, Lauren Davis spent 4 years at WTVY-TV News 4 in Dothan, Alabama, where she anchored the morning show and reported. Lauren went to Iraq in October 2006 with the Army Corps of Engineers as an embedded journalist. She received Best News Anchor, Best Specialized Reporter and Best Series Reporter for her journalism there.
She began her broadcasting career at KRCG-TV in Jefferson City, Missouri producing the evening newscasts and reporting.
Lauren grew up in Dahlonega, GA in North Georgia and graduated with honors from the University of Georgia in 2001. She was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Lauren also studied abroad in France.
Lauren loves volunteering in the community. She's on the Friends of Literacy Board and the O'Connor Senior Center Board. In her spare time, Lauren loves to travel. She loves cruising in the Caribbean, going to Europe and she hopes to someday make it to the West Coast.
When she's not working, you can find Lauren on Knox County Greenways. She loves running! She also loves visiting her family in the North Georgia Mountains, and hanging out with her adorable niece Ellie.
