LOS ANGELES (INSIDE EDITION) -- Over the weekend of September 16, actor and comedian Kevin Hart announced via his Instagram account that he is the target of an extortion plot in which he was caught on video apparently getting "cozy" with a woman who is not Eniko Parrish, his pregnant wife.
"At the end of the day, I just gotta simply do better," Hart said in his video posted to the social media platform.
Inside Edition reports multiple extortionists were working to collect $10 million from Hart in return for not releasing a "sexually provocative" video taken of him and another woman. Officials from the Los Angeles Police Department and FBI are reportedly investigating the group's claims.
In an exclusive interview Monday, Inside Edition is hearing from Torrei Hart, Kevin Hart's ex-wife to which he was married from 2003 until 2011. Torrei and Kevin were reportedly college sweethearts and married before Kevin's rise to fame.
"When I met him, he was selling sneakers," Torrei said to Inside Edition.
Torrei spoke with Inside Edition about the decline of their marriage, saying, "I have an ex-husband who has repeatedly used me in his standup routine. For years, I had to endure that."
Torrei also spoke to the program about a photo Kevin's current wife Eniko shared from their wedding with the caption, "8 years together. 1 year married. Forever to go!"
Fans pointed out Kevin and Torrei divorced only six years ago. Torrei said she believes the two began dating while she was still married to Kevin. While Eniko said on Instagram, "I was never a secret," Torrei told Inside Edition that was not the case.
"She said we were separated, not living together," said Torrei. "We were very much not separated."
