Cocke Co. soldier dies in Washington State

NEWPORT, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Cocke County High School graduate passed away while stationed in Washington State, according to Cocke County Veteran's Officer Michael Barnes.

Barnes, who served 23 years in the Marine Corp, told Local 8 News that family members were mourning the death of Sgt. Bradley Carter and that the circumstances surrounding his death were unknown.

Sgt. Bradley was stationed at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington. Joint Base Lewis-McChord is a training center for all Army services.
