SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Want to see the fall colors, but don't feel like fighting traffic?
Local 8 Anchor Alan Williams went on the first English Mountain Fall Tour on this week's Tennessee Traveler.
For visitors and locals alike, it is the most scenic time of the year to head to the mountains.
When the weather cooperates, the views and colors can be spectacular but to get there you have to take the good with the bad like bumper to bumper traffic. .
Amanda Marr with the Sevierville Chamber of Commerce says they worked on a unique concept since last fall to highlight some of Sevierville's historic elements with the fall colors and came up with the English Mountain Fall Driving Tour.
It is off the beaten path of the usual treks through the mountains, viewing Dolly Parton's statue, The Battle of Fair Garden, Sevier County's only Civil War battle and the Harrisburg covered bridge.
All the while seeing the countryside and the change in colors of the leaves.
