Front Page Follies

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- It's that time of the year again -- Front Page Follies time!

The roast will feature journalists, community members and cameo appearances who poke fun at events and newscasters that were memorable from the previous year.

Each year, the program honors a person with prestigious journalism accomplishments.

This year's honoree is none other than Local 8 News Anchor Alan Williams. Wiliams is a 37-year veteran in the broadcast business and an active member of the Knoxville community, serving on the boards of Knoxville Area United Way, Positively Living, and Love All Tennis. He also serves as the spokesperson for the Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Knoxville and as an advisory member of the Knoxville Nativity Pageant.

Front Page Follies will start at 6 p.m. on June 17 at the Convention Center on Henley Street in downtown Knoxville.

Proceeds from ticket sales go towards scholarships for journalism students and professional development programs in East Tennessee through the Front Page Foundation.

Tickets can be purchased here.
