BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Blount County Sheriff's Office said residents in the Tuckaleechee Pike area near Lambert Lane will see increased law enforcement presence while deputies search for a suspect who fled during a traffic stop Sunday night.
Authorities said, "If you do not have to travel through this area, please hold off until we are clear."
BCSO's Facebook page identified the suspect as 30-year-old Darrell Brown and warned that he could be armed. He is wanted in connection with an alleged aggravated assault on a sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop Sunday evening.
Brown was last seen in the Tuckaleechee Pike area wearing white shorts and a tee shirt.
At 6:20 p.m. on Monday, the Blount County Sheriff's Office announced they were scaling back the search for Brown. Law enforcement was to continue searching for Brown throughout the evening.
Brown was described as being 5'7", 170 pounds, with green eyes and a close crop haircut.
Anyone who sees Brown is urged to call 911 and not approach him.
