KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Knoxville man has been sentenced to 10 years in jail after more than 2,000 images depicting sex abuse of children and child pornography were found on his computer.
Representatives with Knox County Schools told Local 8 News the man was a former music teacher at Pleasant Ridge Elementary School.
An area computer store contacted the Knoxville Police Department on Jan. 24 when they discovered potentially pornographic images on a customer's computer. KPD's internet crimes against children task force investigated and found 65-year old Brian Corrie Patton was the owner of the computer. Investigators found Patton and began questioning him.
Patton then took investigators back to his residence, where he turned over several other devices. KPD found pornographic images of children on those as well.
Patton pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor on Nov. 9. Upon his release from prison, Patton must register as a sex offender.
