KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)- The medical director of the Pat Summitt Alzheimer's Clinic says he believes the facility will be up-and-running by mid-January.
The clinic team will work closely with other specialists to provide specialized care for individual patients. The team will also help families understand the situation and encourage them to participate in developing a management plan.
Patrick Wade, executive director of the Pat Summitt Foundation, says the first goal is to provide the best possible care for the people of East Tennessee.
"Over the long term we want this to be a destination site for Alzheimer's researchers. We want this clinic to have the name that Pat Summitt had, the reputation that she had in women's athletics, to be noted for its outstanding care and research."
