KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A University of Tennessee professor is offering a simple solution to a student who missed class because she couldn't find child care for her baby: Bring her to class.
Media outlets report that Professor Sally Hunter offered to hold Morgan King's 3-month-old daughter, Korbyn, while teaching the class.
In Hunter's words: "I work in the Department of Child and Family Studies - so how terrible would it be if I was unwilling to have child visit our class?"
King's Twitter post about crying with gratitude about her professor's email was shared thousands of times, including by University Chancellor Beverly Davenport, who wrote: "''Morgan, thanks for showing us challenges college students face. Prof Hunter, thanks for being part of the solution."
Hunter excused King for missing the class.
Told my professor I missed class yesterday bc I couldn't find childcare & this was her response. I'm literally crying. So blessed/thankful😩😭 pic.twitter.com/3QaThJRXdo— Morgan King (@morgantking) June 16, 2017
