KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Stacie sent me a message, wanting to know how we are doing on rainfall after some recent downpours.
This first half of July, we’ve managed to collect 3.73 inches of rain at McGhee Tyson Airport. That’s helped us recover from a deficit, and we’re now just above average for the year. *This is at this one observation site. Some of you have had more and others less rain.
The next, weekly U.S. Drought Monitor will be released on Thursday.
• D0 (Abnormally Dry)
• D1 (Moderate Drought)
• D2 (Severe Drought)
• D3 (Extreme Drought)
• D4 (Exceptional Drought)
The Drought Monitor focuses on broad-scale conditions. Local conditions may vary.
