WIVK's Jimmy Holt hangs up his headphones for the last time

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Friday served as a bittersweet day for radio host Jimmy Holt, who hung his DJ headphones up for the last time at Knoxville's WIVK 107.7. Nov. 10 ended his 18 year career at the station.

"Although I won't get to say goodbye on the air today, I want to thank you for accepting my silliness and my weird laugh into your lives each morning for 18 years," Holt said. "My goal was just to make folks laugh and happy.

"East Tennesseans are the most general people, and the fact y'all donated to charities we talked about on-air like St. Jude's, Dolly's My People Fund, Dream Connection, Second Harvest, ETCH and countless other charities was truly the best part of all my years at WIVK. All your kind words are very humbling...sometimes you don't realize how many people are actually listening, and I hope I can find a new outlet to bring you my brand of creativity and comedy. Whatever path God has for me, I'm following Him. Love y'all!"
