KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department announced Thursday night that a man wanted in connection to a Bearden homicide was arrested in Detroit, Michigan.
According to Police, Jaleen Genard Allen was being held in the Detroit Detention Center. Investigators from Knoxville were sent to Michigan to interview him. He's expected to have an extradition hearing within several days.
A first degree murder warrant was originally issued for the arrest of Jaleen Genard Allen in connection to the murder of Michael Johnson on August 29.
Johnson, 28, was found dead from at least one gunshot wound in a wooded area near 418 Agnes Rd.
Allen is from Detroit, Mich. and travels between Detroit and Knoxville often. Investigators told Local 8 News Allen is known to carry more than one gun with one gun normally hanging from a chain around his neck.
