KNOXVILLE, Tenn (WVLT) -- History was made at Christian Academy of Knoxville Wednesday night. The girls lacrosse team notched its first ever win in school history with an 11 to 7 victory over Roane County.

Heading into this season, only two girls on the team had ever played lacrosse. Now, there's more than 20 girls on the roster who continue to improve day in and day out.

Head coach John East is pleased so far, "Our goal everyday is, we ask everyday at practice and every game no matter the score on the board, 'Did we win or lose?' Because if we improved, we won. Today we won on the scoreboard too, first win ever. It's exciting."

The girls played in their first ever game over the weekend against Pigeon Forge.
