Lady Vols remain 7th, Vols fall in AP Top-25 rankings

Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Holly Warlick's Lady Vols opened their SEC schedule with a 63-49 win at Kentucky, that win allows Tennessee to maintain its number-7 National ranking in the latest AP Top-25 poll released on new Years Day. The Lady Vols are 13-0 for the first time since the 2005/'06 season and for the first time under coach Warlick.

The Tennessee men fell to 9-3 on the season Saturday following their hard fought 95-93 overtime loss at Arkansas. The loss drops the Vols from
19 to 23 in the new AP Poll. Coach Rick Barnes and company will try and pick up their first SEC win of the season when they host Bruce Pearl's Auburn Tigers Tuesday night at Thompson-Boling Arena. Tip off is set for 7-O'Clock on ESPNU.
