Knoxville, Tenn. (WVLT/Varsity All Access)-- The temperature may have been falling Friday night in Knoxville, but the
heat was rising inside the Fulton High School gym. It was the Falcons
hosting the Alcoa Tornadoes in a boys and girls double-header.
Fulton grabbed the early lead and led by 7 points at the half, and despite an Alcoa rally, the falcons hung on to win by a final of 61-53. Fulton improves to 13-4 on the season and 4-1 in district play.
The girls game was close early. A bucket by Fulton's Riley Hicks would tie
the game at 14. However, the Tornadoes were too tall inside, in particular miss Katie Bean, who helped lead the visiting Tornadoes to a 61-40 win. The young ladies from Alcoa improve to 9-4 on the season and 2-0 in district play.
