KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A 16 year-old was arrested for a string of car burglaries in north Knoxville which occurred throughout the month, the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office announced on Friday.
The teen is believed to be responsible for 17 car burglaries in the Halls and Powell subvisions, though he has only been charged with one of them so far. The case has been handed over to the Juvenile Division of the District Attorney’s Office for possible further prosecution.
The Sheriff's Office said the juvenile targeted mainly GPS units, cameras, and loose change, about half of which has already been recovered.
