KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police continue to investigate an overnight stabbing that sent a 19 year-old man to the hospital on Tuesday. Authorities identified the victim as William Gregory, of Knoxville.
Gregory was reportedly stabbed several times on Wilder Place near Natchez Avenue shortly after midnight. Police found him on Dandridge Ave. near hill on his way to the hospital. They said he sustained several severe wounds, but none of them appeared to be life-threatening.
Officers arrested a 17 year-old suspect, who was not identified a short time later. He was taken to the Knox Co. Juvenile Detention Facility.
Police noted that the Gregory and the suspect apparently knew each other.
