First Peoples Bank robbed, police searching for suspect

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities are trying to track down the man who robbed an east Knoxville bank early Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the Knoxville Police Dept., the Crime Lab, and the FBI responded to the First Peoples Bank, 7522 Asheville Hwy., after it was robbed shortly before 1:30 p.m.

They were told the suspect walked up to the counter and pulled out a camouflage bag and demanded money. He then took off on foot heading east on Asheville Hwy.

The suspect was described as a slender white man, 5'8", 160 lbs., and wearing a dark t-shirt, dark cargo pants, a ball cap, and sunglasses.

    Maybe it was Kenneth Massey. He lives off ashville hwy and needs money for an attorney to stay out of jail for filing false police reports and tamporing with evidence.
