MARYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Two Blount County, Tenn., men have been charged with wounding a fellow bear hunter in the county.
The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said Wednesday that 59-year-old Donnie Ray Radford and 35-year-old Derek R. Radford, both of Maryville, have been charged with reckless endangerment with a firearm, a felony. They are free on a surety bond.
Investigators said 59-year-old Ronnie Summey was shot in the groin and lower abdomen Dec. 3 while standing overlooking a gorge. Apparently he was shot by other hunters who had treed a bear.
Summey was released from a hospital after surgery.
