2 face charges in manhunt that closed schools

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) -- Police say two Tennessee men have been charged with burglary and more charges are pending after a manhunt caused the lockdown of several Mississippi schools this week.

Oxford, Miss., Police Chief Mike Martin said 26-year-old Justin Carrol and 40-year-old Waymon Perry Russell, both of Collierville, Tenn., were arrested Wednesday after a police pursuit.

Martin told The Oxford Eagle that the suspects broke into a home and were in possession of a stolen vehicle when they fled from police. Oxford schools were shut down during the chase.

It wasn't immediately clear if the men had lawyers.
