WASHBURN, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Grainger Co. Sheriff's Office says four men were arrested Wednesday in connection with a homicide in Washburn.
Billy Nicely, of Washburn, was reportedly arrested during a traffic stop on Leadmine Bend Rd. Mark Alan Austin and Matthew Arnold, bot of Sharps Chapel, were found at a home on Johnson Hollow Rd., while Matthew Hankins, of Washburn, was taken into custody in Tazewell.
The Sheriff's Office says the quartet apparently went to Greg Johnson's home on Sunday planning to rob him. Johnson was shot multiple times during an altercation. Two of the suspects were also wounded.
The U.S. Marshall Service-Smokey Mountain Fugitive Task Force, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and Union and Claiborne Sheriff's Office participated int he investigation.
