Alcoa Cheddar's robbed at gunpoint, police searching for suspect

ALCOA, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities with the Alcoa Police Dept. are searching for the man who robbed a Cheddar's Casual Cafe at gunpoint shortly after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Employees told police that the gunman rang the bell at the back service door of the restaurant, 250 Hamilton Crossing Drive, and asked for a manager. He then pulled out a silver handgun and demanded money.

The suspect followed the employees to the restaurant's safe where he took an undisclosed amount of money and took off down Bessemer Street.

Witnesses described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 20's, about 5'8" tall, weighing about 160 lbs., and wearing a goatee. He had on sunglasses, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.
