Argument between neighbors turns violent

HALLS, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A dispute between two neighbors turned violent on Sunday afternoon after one of them allegedly pulled out a gun and shot his neighbor in the side during an altercation.

According to the Knox Co. Sheriff's Dept., Jessie Hurst, 34, and James Hopson, 20, in arguing near their property line, 8828 Highland View Road, in Halls, when Hopson pulled out a gun and shot Hurst. Hopson's father was reportedly there as well and called 911.

Rural Metro rushed Hurst to the UT Medical Center. Hopson was arrested without incident and is being held on $150-thousand bond at the Knox Co. Sheriff's Detention Facility.

The Sheriff's Dept. said the investigation is still ongoing.
