Argument in S. Knoxville leads to stabbing, cutting

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A south Knoxville man received several knife wounds following an early morning domestic incident at a south Knoxville apartment, according to Knoxville Police reports.

Police said the man had a small puncture wound on his chest and a seven-inch slashing-type cut on his right arm.

Officers had been called to home, 3614 West Blount Ave., shortly after 3:00 a.m. Both the man and the woman were still there when police arrived.

Authorities believe both of them had been drinking when the woman got up and left. When she returned, the man asked her where she went and she said it was none of her business. According to reports, "this did not go over well" and the two began fighting.

During the argument the woman got a hold of a folding knife and allegedly stabbed and cut.

She showed no marks or injuries and was taken into custody on charges of Aggravated Assault. The man was taken to Blount Memorial with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said they are withholding their names until they complete their preliminary investigation.
