CLEVELAND, Tenn. (AP) -- Firefighters who extinguished a fire at a Cleveland convenience store also discovered a burned body inside it.
Lt. Donnie Sullivan, a fire and arson investigator with the Cleveland Fire Department, said the flames were controlled shortly before 5 a.m. EDT Tuesday and firefighters then discovered the remains, according to the Cleveland Daily Banner.
Police said the damage was such that investigators couldn't immediately determine the gender of the person.
The fire was at a BP convenience store which authorities said closed at midnight and was scheduled to open again at 6 a.m.
It was not immediately determined whether foul play was involved.
