GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Bristol man pleaded guilty to taking a minor to North Carolina in order to have sex, the Department of Justice announced.
Everette Spencer Barnett faces a minimum of five years behind bars and could get up to 30 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine as well as a lifetime of supervised release and $100 mandatory assessment. His sentencing is set for August 29 in Greeneville.
A federal grand jury indicted the 40 year-old in October 2010 following an investigation by the F.B.I., Bristol and Tennessee Police Departments, and the District Attorney General for the Second Judicial District.
