OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- One woman is undergoing treatment and could face charges after pointing a handgun at officers late Saturday night.
Oak Ridge Police say they were dispatched to Jonathan Lane just after 11:30 PM, to check on a 46-year-old female who had threatened to harm herself.
When they arrived, officers say the woman was on a sidewalk armed with a gun and alternated holding it to her head and throat.
Officers commanded her to drop her weapon, but the suspect refused and pointed it at the officers, forcing them to fire multiple shots at her, none of which struck the suspect.
Officers were then able to take the suspect into custody without further incident, and she was taken to Methodist Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.
Charges are pending against the suspect and no one was injured.
