KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - The Knoxville Police Department is looking for two men that were involved in a shooting that occurred Thursday night.
Officers were called out to Glider Avenue at Mitchell Street in North Knoxville and found a 35-year-old man on the ground with a gunshot wound to the leg.
According to police reports, the victim, identified as Dustin Hutchens, says he had purchased a "small quantity" of marijuana from someone several days ago.
But when he bought it, Hutchens told police he came up $3 short.
Thursday night, as Hutchens was walking along Glider Avenue, he was reportedly approached by the same individual who had sold him the marijuana. That person demanded his $3. When Hutchens could not produce the money, the suspect shot him once in the leg.
Hutchens was transported to UT Medical Center with what appeared to be a non-life threatening injury.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
