KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knox County authorities have arrested a man they say is responsible for an armed robbery, but not before a Tuesday afternoon chase.
Police say 25-year-old Corey Whaley walked into the Lee's Food Mart on Clinton Highway Sunday. They say he was carrying a gun and demanding money.
Investigators say after Sunday's robbery, Whaley led police on a chase that ended in a northwest Knox County neighborhood.
Authorities searched for several hours but did not find the suspect.
Whaley is charged with aggravated robbery.
Police arrested Whaley Tuesday along with Travis Nelson.
Officers attempted to pull over a car with the two inside but Nelson refused to stop.
After a short chase, the two were taken into custody.
Nelson faces several charges.
