Crimetracker: Clerk scares off man during attempted robbery

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox County Sheriff's Office says a man tried to rob a convenience store Sunday.

It happened around 8:45 PM at the Sunoco Ebeneezer Market on Ebeneezer Road.

Deputies say the man came into the store and demanded money while acting like he had a weapon.

When the clerk showed the man that he had a gun, the suspect ran out of the store.

The man was wearing a white face mask, a dark sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, and black shoes.

He is 5’8”-5’10” with a thin build and approximately 18-25 years old.
