KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- An Anderson Co. man was arrested in connection with the death of a 33 year-old Lake City woman found dead on Cobb Hollow Road in September of last year, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announced on Tuesday.
James Wylie has been charged with Criminal Homicide, Kidnapping, and Leaving the Scene of a Death or Personal Injury. The u54 year-old Clinton man has been booked into the Anderson Co. Jail on $500,000 bond.
According to the TBI, the victim, Martha Rose McGhee, fell out of Wylie's vehicle and hit her head, causing her death. It added that the Wylie and McGhee were reportedly friends.
The 7th Judicial District Attorney General had asked the TBI to join the Anderson Co. Sheriff's Office in investigating McGhee's death.
