MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- Faithway Fellowship Church hopes their message will help the crooks who stole from them have a change of heart.
"To the thieves that stole from this church Sat. night, Jesus shows mercy. We will, too. Bring back our stuff!" is what you'll read if you drive by the church on Sevierville Road.
According to an incident report, someone broke into the church through the backdoor and stole musical instruments worth thousands of dollars.
But that's not all they took.
Church member Jerry Hurst told Local 8 News the crooks also stole a computer.
"It had all our memories on it from the last 6 years. Some members who are no longer with us on this earth anymore," he said.
Authorities say the thieves didn't leave a trace, but church members remain hopeful.
"We have no anger here towards those thieve. We'd just like our property back," Hurst said.
The investigation is ongoing.
