Crimetracker: Curtis Harper scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A judge will appoint a public defender for Curtis Harper during his court date on Tuesday, September 3.

Harper is planning to appeal his conviction. In June, jurors found him guilty of driving drunk in a hit-and-run and killing Chasity Thornell, her unborn daughter and Nelson Soto. The crash happened almost a year before on Washington Pike in North Knoxville.

Harper was sentenced to 30 years in prison. He'll be eligible for parole in 9 years.
