Updated: Wed 3:25 PM, Mar 27, 2013

KINGSTON, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Matthew Dotson is accused of starving his two-year-old son to death. Dotson faced a judge this morning in Roane County. His trial date has been moved to July 16th.

Matthew and Amanda Dotson face murder charges in the death of their two-year-old son, Clifford. Deputies say he weighed just 12 pounds when his parents took him to the hospital last May, and say it appears they kept him in a child seat most of the time and fed him just once a day.

The Dotson's six-year-old son was placed in DCS custody following their arrest.
