KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Knoxville man was arrested after he allegedly held a gun to a woman's head and raped her last weekend.
Arthur Copeland, 39, has been charged with two counts of Aggravated Rape and one count each of Aggravated Assault and Especially Aggravated Kidnapping.
Police say officers were called to an apartment on Ridgebrook Lane shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Monday. The victim told investigators Copeland pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her repeatedly before attacking her.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Police noted Copeland already has a "lengthy" criminal history that includes a 2nd Degree Murder conviction and several robbery convictions.
