Crimetracker: KSCO searching for convenience store robber

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knox Co. Sheriff's Office is searching for the man who robbed the Weigel's on Clinton Hwy. around 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Preliminary reports indicate the man walked into the convenience store, 7444 Clinton Highway, and approached the counter like he planned on buying something. When the clerk opened the register, that's when the suspect pulled out a knife and lunged at the clerk. He then grabbed some cash from the drawer and took off.

The suspect was described as a white man, around 5'9"-5'10", 150-160 lbs., and unshaven. He was wearing a charcoal gray hoodie, jeans, white tennis shoes, and a dark toboggan.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Knox Co. Sheriff's Office at 865-215-2243.
