KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The man accused of shooting two people near UT campus Tuesday night has been released from the hospital.
Brandon Middlebrook, 25, was released around 5:00 p.m. Friday and immediately taken into custody. He is charged with two counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, one count of Aggravated Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Dangerous Felony.
Police say Middlebrook shot two people at a Highland Terrace Apartments on 13th Street in the Ft. Sanders neighborhood of Knoxville.
Officers later found him shot on 21st Street. A handgun was also discovered in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Detective believe that gun was used during the shooting.
Middlebrook has a criminal history that includes charges of Aggravated Rape, Aggravated Burglary, Theft, Aggravated Assault, Vandalism and Attempted Robbery.
The two victims, Aundre Buford and Macee Peterkin, are expected to recover.
