Crimetracker: Man arrested for assault after burglary

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police have arrested a man after they say he broke into a car and then assaulted the owner.

Arrest warrants show, Michael Lynn Dickerson, 40, of Newport, went to Outback Steakhouse in Sevierville, went to a vehicle, popped the lock and entered the SUV. Officers say the owner of the car then confronted Dickerson, when Dickerson punched the owner in the face.

Dickerson was arrested and booked into the Sevier County jail on burglary and assault charges and has a $25,000 bond. Dickerson is scheduled to be in court in February.
