Williams condition has not been released.
A man was flown to the hospital after he was stabbed in a Jefferson County church parking lot.
According to Jefferson Co. Sheriff G.W. Bud McCoig, authorities received a call about a stabbing just after 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Officers found a 41-year-old man with stab wounds to his torso at the intersection of Valley Home Road and Apple Valley Road.
Sheriff McCoig told Local 8 News the victim was driven to that location, but the stabbing happened after a fight broke out in the parking lot of a church on N Rushy Springs Rd in Talbot.
"It had nothing to do with the church," Sheriff McCoig said. "They just chose the parking lot."
The Sheriff said several other people were involved in the fight. Investigators are now interviewing them to figure out why and how it all happened.
Investigators are also looking into the car the victim was found in. According to the sheriff, it was a stolen vehicle out of Cocke County.
