CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - An accused car thief didn't get far when the owners trapped him and waited for police.

Crossville police say Johnny Ray Davis stole a Jeep Cherokee, and officers watched him nearly hit another car during the getaway.

They say he tore up lawns, before crashing, and running away.

The SUV's owner chased after Davis, and held him until police arrived.

The arrest report shows Davis had blood shot eyes, and admitted drinking earlier in the day.
