KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Authorities have released the name of the 17 year-old shot and killed in a drive-by in East Knoxville on Friday. Hakeem Jackson died while in surgery, according to the Knoxville Police Dept.
Officers found Jackson in the 2300 block of Woodbine Ave. Witnesses told investigators someone in a grey sedan opened fire on Jackson and his brother while they were walking down the street. Jackson's brother ran for cover and wasn't shot.
After the shooting, the suspect's vehicle took off heading east on Woodbine Ave. Police are still searching for the car.
