KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) The Knoxville Police Dept. is still investigating a pair of shootings at Walter P. Taylor Homes on Wednesday. The shootings happened about seven hours apart and appear to be unrelated, police said.
The first victim, 36 year-old Jack Chesney, was found around 3:30 p.m. lying behind the apartment building off parking lot B. He was rushed to UT Medical Center with what were considered life-threatening injuries.
Then, around 10:30 that night, officers were called back to the housing development where they found 54 year-old Larry Gray lying in front of 304 S. Kyle Street. Police said he was shot in the stomach and buttocks. Gray was also taken to UT Medical Center where he is expected to recover.
Both cases remain under investigation.
