KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- The Knoxville Police Dept. has identified the 11 year-old Knoxville boy who was struck by a black SUV late Monday evening.
Elijah Whitten had to be taken to UT Medical Center with what were described as non-life threatening injuries. Police are still searching for the driver.
According to kids who were with Whitten, they were riding their bicycles in an alley off Gleason Place when Whitten went into the street without looking. His bike has been impounded while during the investigation.
Police did not get a good description of the SUV, other than the color. They did say three men were in it.
Knoxville police are searching for a hit and run driver after an 11 year old boy was hit while riding his bicycle.
It happened around 9 o'clock Monday night on Gleason Place near S. Castle Street.
Witnesses say they a black SUV slammed into the boy and took off. They told police three men were in the vehicle.
