NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- A Hawkins Co. woman was arrested after she allegedly told TennCare that her young children lived with her so she could qualify for benefits, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) announced on Wednesday.

Emily S. Arnold, a.k.a Emily Henegar, is charge with TennCare Fraud and theft. The OIG said the indictment pointed out she would not be eligible without claiming her kids.

“The message in this case is simple - if you lie, cheat or steal to get TennCare benefits, you risk going to jail, or having to repay the state for your medical expenses,” Inspector General Deborah Faulkner said.

If convicted, she could fave up to four years on the theft charge and two years for TennCare fraud.
