SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT)-- A Sevier County man was arrested on theft and robbery charges Sunday night.
According to authorities, Jamison Catlett of Gatlinburg was wanted by multiple agencies after they say he stole a car, robbed two businesses and was involved in a hit-and-run. They said it all happened within 24 hours.
Sevierville Police told Local 8 News he first hit the FastStop located at the Shell gas station around 2 a.m.
"The store clerk said a male came in wearing a black ball cap demanded money, she told him no. He pulled the cash register to him and took the cash out and ran from the store," Lt. Eric Ramsey said.
A witness was able to get a license plate number of jeep the suspect took off in.
Lt. Ramsey said the witness was one digit off but they quickly linked Catlett to the crime and learned he was in a car that was reported stolen in Jefferson County.
According to Sevier County Sheriff's Office, Catlett robbed Kodak Trade Center Sunday evening. They said he took the whole cash register.
That cash register was found in Knoxville, where Catlett was arrested that same evening after a traffic stop. Authorities said it was recovered on Holston Hills Rd.
Catlett was taken to the Seiver County Jail where he remains on a $50,000 bond.
He's expected to be in court April 16th.
