Crimetracker: Stabbing near Greyhound station sends one to hospital

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Police are looking for a pair of suspects involved in a stabbing that sent one man to the hospital early Friday morning. Shortly after midnight, a Knox Co. Sheriff's Office officer who was working at the Greyhound station, 100 E. Magnolia, spotted the victim, 22 year-old Jesse James.

James told the officer he was waiting for a bus near N. Central and Depot Ave. when he was approached by a man and a woman, asking to use his cell phone. At some point during the encounter, police say the man stabbed James and the pair took off with his phone, heading west possibly down Depot Ave.

James then walked to the bus station to find the officer. He was taken to Ft. Sanders ER with what were described as non-life threatening injuries and was later transferred to UT Medical Center ER.
